Is asthma curable?
Asthma cannot currently be cured but is highly controllable. With the right inhaler regimen, most patients achieve excellent symptom control and normal quality of life. Many children with asthma see improvement in adulthood.
What causes COPD and can it be reversed?
COPD is primarily caused by smoking (90% of cases) and air pollution. Existing damage cannot be fully reversed, but stopping smoking immediately slows progression and improves outcomes. Medications, pulmonary rehabilitation, and sometimes oxygen therapy maintain quality of life.
